... but she smiled at me so sadly
that my anger straightway died
(A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum)

December 1969. This is a big day. The Ford dealership delivered our new car. The truck just left and I know the neighbors are standing behind their curtains watching. This is one of the hottest muscle cars around. My mom just ran back in since there was smoke coming from the kitchen. I guess she burned our lunch. Who cares. I only want to cruise around, turn on the FM, listen to Procol Harum's Whiter Shade Of Pale - and forget about the world. This would be so much cooler than weed. Too bad, it's so cold today.
