I have no idea what kind of insect this is. It looked a bit like a fly but really bkack and ... more science fiction. It literally landed in front of my lens. ok. I did some research on the internet. Seems to be a Black Horse Fly Naperville, Illinois USA, 2007

Even with bugs, it works so well when the focus is on the eyes... Nice use of such a shallow depth of field.
