Shooting Bambi

A Hunter's Dream... Two of a herd of wild White Tailed Deer that were crossing our path while we were walking in Springbrook Prairie. This was one of the better shots I got hands-free with my old 210 tele-lens and the CANON's continuous shooting feature. Most of the others are (even more) blurry and many of them only show white tails :)

My man's only comment was - where's my gun?!! He goes to Stewart Island at the very south of NZ every year to go hunting, where he tries to capture these - wish he'd capture them on camera instead!!
Bambi doesn't look very keen on staying still for long!

@Bronnie: No Bambi wasn't keen on staying at all. I have a series of shots from the few seconds later. White tails only...

@Helen: Thanks Helen. The good thing about 'Bambis' - that's what I found out today. They always look into your eyes - until you move...

@Jerry: Well, to be honest. It was in the 20's F, windy, my fingers were freezing and I tried to keep the heavy tele lens somehow in focus. Not sure about the heart though ... :)

good capture - nothing like observing wildlife in nature and even better getting a snap for the memories

@Jason Kravitz: Ummm.... I wasn't really observing them. Otherwise I'd probably have a tripod with me and a can of hot coffee... they were just there all of sudden ;)
